The NEWCOMER CLUB meets the first Tuesday of the Month (August to May). Each meeting includes refreshments, socializing, and an informative presentation. Come to the meeting and join us for lunch afterward. We look forward to meeting you.
Activities are the heart of our newcomer club. Sign up to join in the fun. Meet representatives of various community organizations. Learn about plays, exhibits, clubs, community service organizations, and volunteer opportunities.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, will be the first GENERAL MEMBERSHIP meeting of the 2010-11 season for the Newcomer Club of the Foothills.
The presentation will be by Oconee County Council on organization of county government and current issues.

The ANNUAL FALL FLING, our first social, will take place on Wednesday, October 13th from 4 p.m. until dusk at Duke World of Energy. We hope this new time will allow our working members to join us. Join us for a Country Bar-B-Que with all the fixings with fun games and prizes. It is a great opportunity to connect with other newcomers and make new friends from other activity groups. Look for our flyers and sign up at the September meeting or contact Jane Skolnick for tickets (864-719-0146). Seating will be limited. We hope y’all can join us and bring a friend. Tickets are $8.00 each, with a deadline of October 7, 2010.

Currently done on Apple iWeb program on a Macintosh. Most of the work is done prior to the August newcomer meeting. Contact information has to be updated for those people who leave newcomers and the new ones taking over a position of responsibility (e.g., heading an interest or activity group). The monthly newsletter is currently archived as a PDF on the website. This is a fun job, not too demanding and encourages you learn something new.
